The pictures show the tone of the essay through Erik Weihenmayer's trip to the top of Mt. Everest.
The essay shows examples of determination, struggle, and courage. These are only a few examples of tone that were used in the short story we read in class. Erik struggled because he was blind and was told everything to do. Erik was determined to reach the top of the mountain with his troubles. The story showed examples of courage by Erik's friends caring for him and helping him throughout the trip.

My Bedroom
My bedroom is very comforting. In my room I have tan-brown carpeting and tan curtains with small brown strips. The walls are dark brown and light green, matching the rest of my room. My bedroom is usually neat and organized. Sometimes I have cloths laying around because I get lazy and I don't put them away when I should. If a stranger were to walk into my bedroom right now, I think they would like my room. I think they would like my bedroom because it is clean, unlike most teenager's rooms. My room is also very warm, making it easier to call your home. However, I would not like a stranger living in my room, that would just be a little creepy!

Tarantulas!!
I would rather spend time studying the tarantula over the wasp. I would like to study the spider because I know less about that species. I never would have guessed that tarantulas are harmless to humans. I also learned that the spider's bit is usually weaker than a bee's bite. I would like to study were the tarantulas have became popular pets. Also, I think it would interesting to find out the ratio of how many people own a tarantula as a pet. I believe a study should be done, to prove how tarantulas can be slow and deliberate movers, while being able to catch bigger game. When I am studying the tarantula I would like to find out how many enemies it has. I know that the wasp is an enemy of the spider. The was and the spider are enemies because the tarantulas are paralyzed by the wasp. I am not sure if I would want a tarantula as a pet, however I think I would like to study about them.

Inspiration
I would consider Erik Weihenmayer a great inspiration for many reasons. Erik Weihenmayer is a blind man who climbed to the top of Mount Everest. I think that Erik is an inspiration to everyone. It's an inspiration to be blind and reach it to the top of any mountain. I believe he is trying to tell us that if can do it with his troubles anyone can do it. Erik Weihenmayer is an inspiration of encouragement. He encourages others to climb Mount Everest. He had many people with him on the trip to help reach his goals in case he was faced with troubles. He gives them credit for helping him because he knows that he probably could have reached it to the top without their help. I would also consider Erik an inspiration because he has reached his goal, and most people don't even attempt to climb Mount Everest.

Inspiration
My grandfather has been a great inspiration in my life. My grandfather has Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which is a form of a motor neurone disease. It is commonly known as A.L.S. or Lou Gehrig's Disease. It is called Lou Gehrig's disease in North America to represent the former Yankees player Lou Gehrig. The disease was named after Lou Gehrig because he was the first to receive the disease. There are many difficulties that come along with the disease. Depending on your strength with A.L.S. you may need a walker, wheelchair, and lot of care. My grandfather relies on a wheelchair and my grandmother in his everyday life. His wheelchair helps his mobility and with my grandmothers love, my grandfather does not have to spend time in a nursing home. If we did not have my grandmother's love, we would not be able to care for him appropriately causing us to separate earlier. My bundle of inspiration has trouble breathing and needs to be placed on a nebulizer 4 times a day to help stabilize his breathing. Also, he has inspired me by fighting the disease as long as he has. He has had the disease for about 16 years now. Most people with A.L.S. are only able to fight the disease for 3-5 years. I am surprised my grandfather has made it as long as he has and I am unsure how much longer he can be with us. There is no cure for Lou Gehrig's Disease. Grandpa I know you know this already, but I would just like to tell you, "I LOVE YOU."
Be thankful for what you have, it would be a dream of mine, for my family to live a healthy lifestyle.
Sally :)-I will always be with you!

School
If I could create my own blogging prompt, I would base it off school.
If you had a choice, what would you change about your school? I would want to create better classes for high school students to chose from. I feel that if the students like the class that they are taking they are likely to receive a higher grade. I think young men would rather take a hunting class over an art class. Most ladies would pick an art class, if they had a choice between art and a shop class. When interviewing other high school students I realized how many different things people would like to change about their school. Several students said they would like to change the lunches, the way they are taught, and even a few of the teachers. If the students like the method of teaching they will have a higher change to learn something new. In conclusion, almost everyone said that would they would like to change the length of their classes and the classes they get to chose from. If you had the choice to change one thing about school, what would it be?

Blogging Challenge
When visiting http://studentfriends.edublogs.org/, I learned how many different things can be bring people together. The easiest way to bring people together is simply to be their friend. Bringing people together can be done by friendship, greeting cards, and kind actions. An example of a greeting card, would be someone saying, congratulations to someone else. A kind action, that brings people together could be a person giving someone else money. A rich person might give a needy or poor person some money, to get through hard times. Bringing people together can be done from different cultures and social rankings. This can build multiculturalism understanding, reducing prejudice and intolerance. These are just a few of the many ways to bring people together.

Global Warming
Global warming effects many things worldwide. Thunderstorms, temperature, greenhouse gases, fuels, and global sea level, are just a few items that are effect due to global warming. It not only changes the overall temperatures that we experience here on earth, but it also effects the way we live. Within the last century earth's temperature has risen over 1 degree Fahrenheit. The change in temperature has been linked to human activity within the last couple years. Global warming has caused sea levels to rise 4-8 inches. The increase in the sea level may have an effect on the number of tsunamis that we experience. In 1997 the United States released 20% of the greenhouse gases. That number has rose significantly within the last 12 years. Thunderstorms are creating a big problem because of the temperature changes that accrue. When the temperatures change or don't change at all for all a long period of time, the gases can't react properly. When temperatures and gases don't mix correctly it produces hurricanes, tsunamis, and other deadly disasters. Global warming is a issue that we should all help eliminate.

Footprint
When researching my personal information in google, I wasn't able to find much about me. I was allowed to find information like my name, some of my email addresses, and my date of birth. I was unable to locate my name associated with the town I live in, my family members, etc. I found many famous people with the same name as me, however they have a different way of spelling their name. I know that when I am creating a website, that I should never give out any personal information. Some information such as my full name, address, full date of birth, ect should never be given away. When you become an adult you may be able to give out more information such as your name. You should always be careful on how much information you are giving away.

Vocab.
These are some vocabulary words I have been studying for my English class. I have put these words into a music video to help me understand the meaning and content of the vocabulary words.

MEXICO
If I could travel to any place around the world, I would travel to Mexico. I would want to go to Mexico to learn about another culture. While I am visiting, I would like to learn more about the traditions that they take part in, such as their holidays. If I ever go to Mexico, I would want to learn about the sports they play. Do they play the same sports as us? Do they play by the same rules that we use? If I travel to Mexico I will be sure to go during winter. Then I can get away from the cold to enjoy the hot weather of Mexico. There are many reasons why I would like to travel to Mexico. If I have the choice to travel around the world, I would most likely visit Mexico.

Christmas
Christmas is my favorite holiday. December 25Th is the birthday for Jesus, known as Christmas. Christmas is my favorite holiday because I get presents to represent the birth of Jesus Christ. Not only do I receive presents, I give presents to others to show appreciation and thanks. This is a special holiday because I get a whole week off school and a there isn't any homework that has to be done. While celebrating Christmas I spend a lot of time with my family. I look forward to Christmas because of the great food and all the sweet treats. My grandmas are just a few of the wonderful cooks in my family. I have a feeling that this is going to be a great Christmas.
Fantasy Holiday
My fantasy holiday would be National Pet Day. National Pet Day is also known as N.P.D. It is similar to both mother's and father's day. It is like other holidays because it is a day that we devote to are pets. On N.P.D., pets will be allowed to do everything that their owner does. They will be allowed to enter banks, restuarants, malls, etc. All pets taking place in N.P.D. must be leashed and well behaved. N.P.D. will take place every year on June 20. On June 20th animals will be given egual rights, they will be treated the same as their owners. I think that there should be a National Pet Day to show the relationship between humans and animals.
All in favor of National Pet Day.
All in favor of National Pet Day.

Global Warming
As part of the student blogging challenge, I wrote a post for BAD 2009 on the topic of climate change. When reading about climate change and the greenhouse effect, I learned many things. I learned that the greenhouse effect is the rise in temperature that the earth experiences. The earth experiences warmer temperatures because of gases in the atmosphere trapping energy from the sun. I also learned that those gases consist of water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, halogenated fluorocarbons, ozone, perfluorinated carbons, and hydrofluocarbons. This is only a few of the facts that I have learned while researching about global warming.
The greenhouse effect can cause a change all throughout the world. It effects Wisconsin by changing the time and temperatures of are seasons. Global warming also causes many plants and animals to become extinct. It takes many thousand years for an area to be effected by global warming. This theory has been proved by many scientists because there hasn't been any changes in records within the time period of those scientists. Eventually the whole world will be faced by global warming.
The greenhouse effect has been a problem for at least 5-billion years. Scientists records only show 5-billion years into the past. We can prevent global warming by carpooling and using less energy. By carpooling and using less energy, we are saving carbon dioxide and electricity. Solar energy is a better product to use over other forms of electricity. We can also plant trees, to help collect pollution. The collection of pollution creates healthier oxygen, for use to breath in. We should care about global warming because it may become world wide and it effects the environment that we live in. If temperatures continue to rise to fall below normal for a long period of time the earth will face big problems. Problems may occure such as tsunmis, breathing conditions, and extinction of some plants and animals. Lets work together to help save are planet from global warming.

Sports
I enjoy many different sports, including soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. I participate on many soccer teams. Soccer is a big part of my life, being my favorite sport. I have been playing soccer and basketball since I was little. I am not a member of a baseball or football team. I find it interesting to watch the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team. I also like to watch the Green Bay Packers play good football. I am looking forward to a good sports season.

Different Countries
When visiting blog's from other countries, I learned many things. I learned that most of the people are like us, just in different ways. They play soccer, football, Baseball, and basketball in Venezuela, Australia, and New Zealand. Their sports are close to the way we play here in the United States. The rules are a little different from country to country. Also, those from other countries share topics that we have here. One main topic was about wearing uniforms at school and work. Most voted that they would not like to wear uniforms. One hobby that was the same in every country was music. Music is a very popular interest throughout the world. I enjoyed visiting blogs from other countries and learning new things about others personalities.

Fall Activities
Fall is my favorite season because I can just be a kid. In the fall I like to ride my bike, go four-wheeling, and spend time with my dog. I enjoy watching the colors of the tree leaves change colors as the fall moves on, also I like to see the leaves fall to the ground. The best part of fall is jumping into to a big pile of leaves, showing the kid in me. Also, I like to go for boat rides in the fall watching the fun colors of leaves reflect into the lake. Going up north to the cabin with family and friends is the best way for me to relax and enjoy the fall.

English 10
When comparing this english class to any other english class I have been in, I like this class the best. English classes from the past didn't keep me focused on what had to be done. I think that all the worksheets from the past is a waste of time. Doing everyting on the computer is a lot more fun. Also, this year in english 10 I feel I am learning a lot more about computers that I never knew. I feel that this will be a class that I will have a high potential of learning a lot. That is only a few reasons why I like english 10 the best out of all the english classes I have been in.
