Challenge 10

Challenge 10

Blogging Challenges can help impact student writers in many ways. I wrote 10 different blogs for all of the challenges. They are each labeled, "Challenge" with the corresponding number. I have posted more blogs than just those for these challenges. Most of my blogs were written for school assignment reasons. However, a few were posted on free will. I typically do not post blogs unless someone tells me to or it is for a grade. I don't know what to write about or I may feel that no body would like to read my posts. Why would they want to wast their time on my blog?

Why would someone want to read other people blogs if they don't have to? I have a total of zero comments on all of my blogging challenges. Nobody has ever commented on any of my posts. This is why I don't blog more often, I feel I am just writing to myself. I don't think it is necessarily to write to my self when it is easier to talk. This is probably not a good thing because it may turn against me in the future. When I do choose to write a paper, I try to do it to the best of my ability and not just to get it finished. I feel people didn't comment on my blog because they do not know about the blogging challenges. For those that do know about the blogs (students) are probably just to lazy to do extra work. They would rather spend more time on a social network site. I do comment on others blogs, when I can think of something to say or I feel they have declared a good point. I would rather not blog on this site if I don't have to.

Challenge 3 was my favorite because I was able to use a lot of freedom. I liked the 3rd challenge was about your home area and questions you may have for other people from around the world. This allows for you to inform others on things that they may never knew before. It makes you think how you would like to describe your area so that everyone knows were you are from. I really liked this blog because it made me think and express my feelings toward my home area.

I didn't change blog themes because I don't know what to change them to. I was just focused on the basics and I didn't know that we could change the themes. That is OK for today and now I know for next time when I blog.

I am unsure how many widgets I use in my blog, maybe about 10 widgets. I think I used enough widgets in my blog. I prefer not to use to many of them in the first place because I feel that they aren't very important. Widgets can range from a variety of things, most are boring in my opinion. I don't mess with the unnecessary items.

Blogging Challenges can help you improve your writing while creating fun by writing about stuff that you enjoy.

Reflection

First Impression- Very nice work, shows a strong work ethic in each post, really shows you care
Attention Catcher- Sports-minded, likes the basic format, doesn't worry too much about the little things
Distracting- Very little color choice, long posts (not very catchy)
Suggestions- Add more color, break up the post format into bullet points, get others involved

Challenge 9

Challenge 9

1. How are teens using their cell phones?

Most teens think it is necessary to own a cellular phone. About 3/4 of all teens between the ages of 12 and 17 own a cell phone. This number has grew nearly 45% since 2004, 6 years. About 50% of all teens send at least one text massage each day. Females send and receive more text messages than males in an 80:30 ratio. Most teens can't live a day without their phones.
I feel that this is a accurate site and the information can easily be proven true. All of my friends own a phone. Most of them send multiple text messages each day. There is about three kids in my grade that send about 2,000 text each week. Lately, I realized that when a new phone is released, everyone will go get the latest technology as soon as it comes out. I don't know very many teens without a cell phone.
When adding my opinion, I feel that cell phones are not necessarily for all teens to have. I think teens that are able to drive should be the only ones with phones, in case of an emergency. Those who are able to drive, take on more responsibilities without relying on others. between the ages of 12 and 15 do not deserve a phone in less thy are paying for it all themselves. Which I don't think they would want to do. They would need a good job to help locate the money to pay the phone bill. Cell phones can be more trouble than good.
I fit into the cell phone info graphic chart very well. I didn't get a cell phone until I was about 15.5 years old. I got my phone for many different reasons, driving babysitting, and when I needed to call for a ride after sporting events. I helped pay for the phone I received. I used some of my babysitting money to cut down on the cost for my parents. On average I probably sent about two text messages each day. I don't use my phone very much but I have it in case of an emergency.

2. - 3. Growth of facebook - Check twitter and facebook

Facebook and twitter are two very popular social networks. Facebook has significantly increased the total number of active users within the last six years. There is currently billions of active members with facebook page. In one day, the average person spends about 55 minutes on facebook. Twitter and facebook can be used all throughout the world, it is most popular in the United States. About 50% of active facebook users log-in in daily. Once people log into a social network, they are typically on that website for about 55 minutes. I don't have a twitter account, only facebook. On average, I log-in in two times each week. I am on that social network site for approximately 20 minutes each day I sign in.This does not seam right for my friends. I think that they connect to a social network every time they use a computer. When they are on the Internet, they are logged-in as log as possible of for nearly two hours. I feel that teens are addicted to social network pages such as facebook and twitter. Facebook and twitter can become very dangerous and addicting if used too often.

4. Online User

I am part of a classroom blog, even though I write my own work. As a class, we are creators because we write and publish are own blogs. We never decide as a class what we have to write about. Everyone has their own opinion, giving us a lot of freedom in our blogging challenges. I am in a classroom blog because it is for school and all the students must participate to get a passing grade. As an individual, I am both a creator and a joiner. I am a creator for school and a joiner because I have a social(facebook) page. The Internet is a wonderful place to express your feelings and learn new things about others. I enjoy writing about the weekly blogging topics as a young teen.

Challenge 7- 5 Really Awesome Bloggers

Holly, Adriena, Karlet, Jessica, Brittany, Kelly, Hannah, Taylor, Jaymie, CJ, and Kelsey These are good friends to help me with next weeks blog--Challenge 8 One of those people could be the best writer to represent our class.

Earth Day is a day of remembrance set to show good things about our Earth's environment. It began with Gaylord Nelson, a U.S. Senator, when he was involved in an environmental teaching on April 22, 1970. Earth Day in celebrated on the 22 of April because that is the same day on which the teaching occurred. The name, Earth Day, was picked by several people because they said, "It was a obvious and logical name." Earth Day is a wonderful day to help out the environment. I typically don't celebrate Earth Day in either my school or town. Maybe we will do something special for the important day in Biology tomorrow. Every year I help pick up the garbage in the ditch along my street with my family. We do not pick up the garbage on April 22, Earth Day just made me think of this because it helps the environment. I did Google Earth Day to learn more about it. I made a link to Wikipedia on the title for this paragraph. I got all the information I needed to write this paragraph from Wikipedia.

Challenge 6

Challenge 6

1. Blog Roll Holly, Adriena, Karlet, Jessica, Brittany, and Kelly

2. I feel that the six people mentioned in number one should be added to your blog roll. Holly, Adriena, Karlet, Jessica, Brittany, and Kelly all have their own ideas that are different from everyone else. Looking at their blogs you will most likely learn something new because everyone has their own ideas and opinions. Their work is well done and deserves to be recognized by others.

3. School Work- English 10, School Work- English 10- Challenge, and Random Fun

4. I categorized my blogs according to the work they describe. The titles are listed in number three if you are interested. I gave them the follow name because it best fits why the blog was published. Most of the blogs are written for English class, giving them the tile of School Work- English 10. If there is ever a blog that was not assigned to me, it will be label Random Fun. Blogging is a great way for me to express my feelings upon the given topic.

Challenge 5

Challenge 5

I think my blog should have a creative common license. I would like a license on my blog because it is my work and I don't want others to get credit for it. I don't think others deserve the right to use or change my work. I feel that it is unfair for others take my work and ideas to create their own. My audience is mainly student from my school and others that are involved in the blogging challenges. I know about half of the people that comment on my blog. The creative common license will help keep my blog safe from others.

Animal Farm

Movie Clip-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2Lj-

I found this clip to be helpful because it gives a brief summary of the whole story I am currently reading in English class. I am reading this story to improve my English and learn more about the Russian Revolution. However, I am unsure why we are learning about the revolution in English class. It is a part of the past that would make more sense if I was learning about this in History. I chose this clip because I found it has the greatest impact on me. This clip helps me keep the animals apart and follow the plot easier, remembering all the small details. After watching this funny clip, I remember the story with greater detail. I believe this clip would have been better without the stupid people doing dumb acts. This is a wonderful clip to watch if you are looking for a brief summary of Animal Farm.

Challenege 4

Challenge 4

I try to save the environment in as many ways as possible. When I am in school, I try to use a reusable water bottle. Using a reusable water bottle saves plastic, paper, and water. While I am at home, I use as little water as possible. Saving water helps save our environment. When I am at home or school, I always try to sort the garbage, paper, and plastics accordingly. At my house, we have separate bins for the garbage, paper, and plastics. If you sort your junk appropriately, it can be disposed in an orderly fashion that is healthier for the environment. Together we can make a big difference in are area.
